Confirmation and payment
After sending your application, please wait for the confirmation email to ensure you secured a place at the Global Assembly. If the number of participation slots fill up before you can register, you will be placed on a waiting list.
The confirmation email will be sent out at most three (3) days after the registration request was received, and will contain instructions on how to pay the participation fee. Alternatively, you will be informed that you have been placed on the waiting list.
It will be possible to either transfer your payment individually or to make one collective transfer for a number of participants (which may save on bank transfer fees). Please transfer the participation fee within 5 working days from receiving your confirmation email and send us a copy of the transfer document for our tracking. Once the payment has been received, you will receive another email which confirms that you are registered as a participant.
Terms & Conditions
Any participant bringing their children along is required to consult SWYAA Egypt to ensure we accommodate them better and to confirm participation fee with our providers.
During free time, the participant is responsible for their actions and movements.
Participation is possible for all previous participants in the SWY program (unless suspended/disqualified). This includes Participating Youth, National Leaders, Advisors/facilitators, Administration staff, IYEO staff. Participants can also bring their family / friends provided places are available.
Visas
Participants are required to arrange their own VISA.
Visa requirements depend entirely on your nationality.
Nationals of many countries can obtain an e-visa at: https://www.visa2egypt.gov.eg/, please check the FAQ section on this website to find out if you are eligible. When you apply for an eVisa, please specify that your travel is organized by a travel agency. Here are the contacts of the travel agency with which we partnered for organizing the GA:

Registration for ex-JPY
As requested by IYEO, JPY will apply directly as mentioned above, and then pay to IYEO for a one-time collective transfer. IYEO will reach out to all the participants from Japan about the payment information.

Booking your Flights
Arriving to Cairo
If you are Joining the GA Official Program
Please plan your travel to arrive (ideally) before 5 pm on Saturday, 22 November, so that you can join the ice breaking event in the evening. Note that you will only be able to check into your GA hotel room around noon on Saturday, 22 November. If you are arriving in the very early morning, you may want to book an extra night. See the section for extending accommodation for recommendations.
If you are only Joining the Optional Tour
Please plan your travel to arrive well before 4 pm on Thursday, 27 November, so that you can make it to the train station before our scheduled departure at 7pm.
Arriving to Cairo International Airport (CAI) on Saturday, 22 November 2025
Our volunteers will meet you at Cairo International Airport (CAI) on Saturday, 22nd November, starting from 1 am. We have arranged a bus leaving the airport every 3 hours to take you to the hotel.
Arriving in a different airport or on another day
You will need to arrange your own transfer if you are traveling on a different date or traveling via another airport. You will find official counters inside the airport (before you leave the airport hall) from which you can book a taxi. Please use one of these companies and do not accept offers from people who will approach you offering a taxi as this may not be safe.

Leaving after the GA Official Program
If you are joining the Official Program and not joining the Optional Tour, you can plan your travel any time on Thursday, November 27th.
Leaving from Cairo International Airport (CAI) on Thursday, 27 November 2025
We have arranged a bus leaving the hotel every 3 hours on Thursday, November 27th to Cairo International Airport (CAI).
Leaving from another airport, or on a different date
If you are traveling on a different date or traveling via another airport, you will need to arrange your own transfer. We recommend you use UBER for that transfer.
Leaving after the GA Optional Tour
We will be flying back from Luxor to Cairo International Airport (CAI) on the evening of Monday, 1 December. Please be conservative and allow a few hours between your return to Cairo and the departure of your return flight back home. Ideally, please book your flight on the morning of Tuesday, 2 December or later. If you are not staying in Cairo International Airport (CAI) between the arrival of your flight from Luxor and the departure of your outgoing flight, you will need to arrange your own transfer to & from the airport, and arrange your own accommodation (if required).
